>Not sure if you are aware of this, but basically all serious photographers do post processing
I am very much aware of this, which is why I don’t like much modern photography. I have been a photographer for over 20 years and I think this reliance on post production will one day look like a passing fad, much like lens flares or and eagle sound when a there is a high camera pass in a movie.
I would be interested in seeing the original.
>Cameras cannot reproduce a scene the way that the human eye sees it
Of course not. But adding gradients in Photoshop will just give you a sugar coated view of reality.
>film photographers did this in the darkroom as well.
I am well aware of these techniques, having been trained in them. They fell out of fashion pretty quickly. I also used to be a cameraman for pop videos, a favorite technique was to rub Vaseline on the lens to create a point of focus. I thought it was cheesy then and I still do.
