Thank you! There is a lot of misinformation in these comments; I am guessing this is coming mostly from people with no knowledge of photography beyond using a cell phone (I don’t mean that in a bad way) so allow me to explain.
This is not an overly post-processed shot. In fact it was mostly created optically and barely edited by me (but YES it was edited, details below.) For reference here is the short exposure version shot at 1/60 second. You can see that all the colors are present in the snapshot: [Godafoss short exposures](http://i.imgur.com/bsgQwRG.jpg)
I then put on a 10 stop neutral density filter which cuts the light 1024 times. This is equivalent to putting a massive pair of sunglasses on my camera. To compensate for the lack of light I used an exposure time of nearly a full minute. Post processing involved saturating the colors (standard for landscapes) and some minor dodging and burning to bring out the shadows and to retain detail in the highlight areas (also standard for landscapes).
The most important part of creating this photograph was finding and using good light. If you don’t like the picture because it’s simply not to your taste then that makes sense. But don’t hate on the pic because it’s “photoshopped” because you are really just displaying a lack of knowledge of how photography actually works.
