Waterfalls flow best later in the day, however due to drought they are a bit wimpy this year. Hike to the top of Nevada Falls, Glacier Point is wonderful, but can be crowded. If driving, parking is limited but there is a great trail from the valley floor. Half Dome is great but takes all day and the cabled tend to be crowded. Hiking to the top of El C apitan is fun and easy, from the back side. Tualame Meadows area is nice, less crowded and than the valley. Awahanee (sp?) Lodge is great – if not staying there, be sure to have a meal at their restaurant. Reservations may be required. Either way, it’s worth visiting. Summer crowds can be overwhelming, but tend to stick close to roads and developed areas. A short hike will quickly thin things out – a longer hike will find you alone with your honey. Bring uncented toiletries, and use bear lockers. Yosemite bears are notorious and many – they are unlikely to harm you but will peel your car open like tinfoil if they smell something (food, toothpaste, etc.). Other animals can be pesky – at this point most small animals in the Sierras are considered to carry the Plague (yes, that one), so don’t get too near. The park is huge, you will NOT see everything, so make a list of “must do’s”. Don’t under rate other, less touristy areas like Hetch Hetchy. I hope you have a fun romantic time!
